Key Facts - Rental Income Tax Malaysia
Rental income is declared under Section 4(d) of the Income Tax Act 1967. It is aggregated with your other income and taxed at the progressive rate. Allowable deductions include repairs, assessment tax, quit rent, insurance premiums, and property management fees. Capital expenses such as renovation costs are not deductible against rental income. The filing deadline is April 30 for resident individuals without a business.
